An introduction to the benefits of Yoga. While Yoga is primarily about stretching, it also develops strength and increases flexibility. Please bring a key lock to secure your belongings. Exchange= FREE through Shape-Up NYC.
Yoga 101: Sundays. 1:15pm-2:30pm. Bay Ridge Yoga / 9016 4th Avenue. Bay Ridge.

Flow and Restore: Sundays. 2:45pm-4:00pm. Bay Ridge Yoga / 9016 4th Avenue. Bay Ridge.
This class will cover all the bases. It will begin with a short meditation, followed by a gentle flow sequence placing an emphasis on alignment, and finish with a series of restorative poses to cool down. Practice with attention and intention while learning how to move skillfully on your mat. Your mind, body, and soul will thank you. All levels welcome and props provided! Breathwork is an active meditation technique that enables us to let go and connect with our emotional selves. With our heart. With our true selves. Part yogic healing, part Shamanic energy, ALL YOU. Through an active rhythmic breath we accelerate the healing process by bypassing the mind as we fill the body with life force. This enable us to discover blocks and move stagnant energy held in our bodies (grief, anger, anxiety, old thought patterns, limiting beliefs, trauma, etc.) without the thinking self getting in the way. This group healing session may be like nothing you've done before! A single session will leave you feeling a deeper connection with your innermost self. It is from there that the healing begins. It can help you increase confidence and diminish anxiety. When you live your life led from the heart, the universe opens up to you. When you heal old wounds love energy fills those lonely spaces.
Karen will be facilitating your self-healing by holding space for you and teaching you how to do this meditation. She uses essential oils and the burning of sage and palo santo all set to a lifting soundtrack! This will aid in your emotional release and help you dig deeper and clearer. The group energy reminds us that we are not alone and that the healing journey is one for us all.
There is no yoga movement and meditation experience is not required. We will be lying down on mats and blankets. Please dress comfortably. Bring an eye pillow/cover and your own crystals if you wish.
